In this section of the website, all exhibitions from 2017 onwards are listed to give an overview of the two thematic focal points of recent years.
With the transdisciplinary project Untie to Tie, which began in 2017, ifa Gallery Berlin initiated a discourse around the legacies of colonialism as well as movement, migration, and the environment. Furthermore, since 2020, the gallery has been inviting contemporary artists to engage in dialogical encounters with individual artworks from the ifa collection through the format Out of the Box.
Since 2020, the ifa Galleries in Berlin and Stuttgart have been cultivating encounters of dialogue among individual artistic positions and international contemporary artists. “Out of the Box” adopts a practice of reexamining individual works, which become part of an artistic/curatorial revision.
Together with local and international partner institutions, stakeholders, artists, and curators, ifa Gallery Berlin initiates interdisciplinary exhibitions, educational programs, and residency projects.
Since its founding in 1991, ifa Gallery Berlin has consistently and successively reported on the artistic practices emerging from tense political and social fragile territories.
