Ojars Petersons is no stranger to Berlin. In 1988, his large-format screen prints titled “The Permanent Decision” were included in the exhibition “Riga – Latvian Avant-Garde” . Ojars Petersons has continued this “Permanent Decision”. Since 1990 he has been exploring space as a social, ecological and cultural environment. In numerous exhibitions in Latvia and abroad, Petersons has become known for orange installations such as “The Bridge”, “The Orange Pine” or “The Orange Player”.

For Ojars Petersons, the colour is an all-encompassing justification of being and creates the ironic distance needed to express the unspeakable and unpredictable. Thus, the installation in the ifa Gallery Friedrichstraße will also be orange. The theme of the installation “The Orange Projector” is the relationship between the art market, management and the artist in today’s world, but also the inner interrelationship between the artist and the work.
