In the exhibition “Zeitsprünge, Raumfolgen,” the ifa Gallery Berlin presents artists from South Asia, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan who deal with questions of social change between tradition and globalization. The experience of simultaneity and the abolition of distance as well as the collapse of proximity and remoteness not only shape life in the Western world, but also fundamentally change ways of life in countries with a colonial past. The exhibition “Zeitsprünge, Raumfolgen” shows contemporary artworks from South Asia that confidently deal with existing patterns and traditions while also offering new, intercultural perspectives throughout the creative process. The exhibition challenges us to question common clichés and to rethink our own attitude towards other cultures and religions.
