Join Susanne Weiß, curator of Rauschen and director of the research project Publik Machen and Petronela Soltész, archivist of the ifa art collection, for an in-depth guided tour exploring the work and legacy of the Centre for Art Exhibitions of the GDR (Zentrum für Kunstausstellungen der DDR, ZfK).

The tour offers insights into the exhibition’s research, curatorial approach and scenographic concept. It explores the ZfK’s pivotal role in international cultural exchange, the GDR’s contested participation in Documenta and the remarkable production of nearly 2,000 exhibitions across East Germany and in more than 90 countries worldwide. It also asks how this history can be understood today through interventions by contemporary artists and the diverse, at times conflicting, perspectives of researchers, writers and eyewitnesses.
